Mr. Bobby H. Overstreet, 89, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Mr. Overstreet was born on September 27, 1929 to the late Mack Minton and Jodie Quinney Overstreet in Swainsboro. Mr. Overstreet served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed for 35 years as a supervisor with GAF Corporation and was a member of Christ Baptist Church. He and his wife were co-owners of one of the first floral shops in Savannah, Bob-Etts Flower Shops. Mr. Overstreet enjoyed helping his wife at the flower shop by delivering flowers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Overstreet Stafford; four brothers, Hollis Overstreet, Gardy Overstreet, Henry Overstreet and Jim Overstreet; three sisters, Etha Branson, Mildred Claxton and Ruth Edenfield and one grandson, Kristopher Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Annette Smith Overstreet; son, Bobby Keith Overstreet and his wife Brenda of Savannah; daughter, Debbie Johnson and her husband Randy of Sautee Nacoochee; five grandchildren, Jennifer Westbrook of Augusta, Melissa Baumuller of Savannah, Shawn Overstreet of Savannah, Lindsey Stafford of Ellabell and Ashley Overstreet of Ellabell; seven great grandchildren, A.J. Johnson of Guyton, Dustin Johnson of Guyton, Lailah Overstreet of Ellabell, Nick Garner of Savannah, Lauryn McNeese of Ellabell, Lucy Overstreet of Savannah and Leeyah Overstreet of Ellabell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Franklin Wilds officiating.
Interment will be held at Northside Cemetery.
